QR Code generator
Type a link or any text. The QR Code holds exactly that, with no redirect through another site, so it keeps working as long as the link does.

What is a QR Code?
A QR Code is a square 2D barcode that phone cameras read. It holds text: a web address, a phone number, a Wi-Fi setting or anything else, and has error correction built in, so a slightly damaged or dirty code can still be read.
This generator uses error correction level M, a balance between size and robustness. The code is static: it contains your data directly, so there is no account, no expiry and nobody counting the scans.
Where it is used
- Links on posters, menus, packaging and business cards
- Product pages and manuals
- Event tickets and check-in
- Inventory and asset tags read by phone
What it holds
| QR Code | |
|---|---|
| Characters | Any text, including accents and emoji (encoded as UTF-8) |
| Length | This site takes up to 1,200 characters |
| Error correction | Level M |
| Blank margin | Set in modules; keep it around the code |
Printing QR Code barcodes
- Shorter text makes a simpler code that scans from further away.
- Keep the blank margin around the code.
- Test the link on a phone before printing.
- Print one sample on the printer and label stock you will use, and scan it with the scanners that have to read it, before a full run.
Need a sheet of them? The batch generator makes up to 1,000 QR Code barcodes at once and lays them out on Letter or A4 label sheets.
Questions about QR Code
Does the QR Code expire?
No. It holds your text directly, so there is nothing to expire. If it holds a link, it works for as long as that web page does.
Can I change the link after printing?
Not with a static code. Codes that can be changed later point to a redirect service that someone has to keep running; this site does not do that.
Can I change the colours?
Yes, but keep dark modules on a light background with a clear difference in tone. Light codes on dark backgrounds are not read by every phone.
